Learn to cook AND vital Stay Home Safe skills (course certification included), go on urban adventures (e.g.team cycle along the riverbank) flex leadership skills and build friendships in person! Wildernook and The HOUSE are teaming up to bring you the YXE Summer Sleepover + Life Skills Retreat - an experiential learning, digital detox that's loaded with positive and practical experiences.

This four day, three night overnight camp is designed for female & non-binary identifying participants in the 10 - 12 age range. We welcome youth who are eager to spend in-person time with friends, learn age-appropriate life skills, and enjoy daytime and evening adventures within a tight-knit and supportive community. This camp provides a sought after opportunity to take part in a sleep away camp right here in the city at The HOUSE - a space designed to combine camp fun with home amenities to maximize good times. The experiences are intentionally planned, framed and debriefed by experienced educators for engaging learning opportunities that boost spirits and life skills!

Times: Drop-off at The House between 8:30 - 9:00 a.m. on the first day and pickup between 4:00p.m - 4:15 p.m. on the last day.

Dates: July 15 - 18, and Aug. 6 - 9 (both are four day, three night camps).

Availability: This program has limited availability! Due to our low leader to participant ratio, this overnight camp is capped at 16 campers. This allows us to ensure ample support and quality learning and social opportunities to help each camper's unique personality to truly shine. If our YXE Summer Sleepover + Life Skills Retreat sounds like a good fit for your family, be sure to secure your child's cozy bunkbed nook at The HOUSE ASAP.

Cost: The program cost of $599.00 includes meals and snacks, clean and safe group accommodations, Stay Home Safe learning materials, access to the specialized outdoor gear we'll be using, event ticket entrance, and mentorship from qualified outdoor educators. Participants may choose to bring approximately $20.00 - $30.00 spending money to supplement the snacks we provide when out sightseeing.

Requirements: Participants need to have comfortable supportive footwear (e.g. one pair of runners and one pair of sport sandals) they can walk, stand and bike comfortably in. Warm layer options, rain jacket, sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses), first aid, medication, personal health and hygiene supplies plus reading material. This is an active program and participants should be in good physical condition to enjoy themselves (e.g. able to comfortably run for 15 minutes and walk for 60 minutes continuously).

Interested in learning more? We will be hosting an information night/tea on June 6th where families can meet the leaders, check out The HOUSE sleepover accommodations and ask questions. A parent information package including itinerary, packing list, waiver forms and policies will be sent out to registered families prior to the camp.
